Pioneer Investments has appointed two new senior hires to its European fixed income team, as it looks to further bolster its bond unit.
The announcement sees credit portfolio manager Vianney Hocquet and credit analyst Elisabeth Van Sante join the company’s operations at its headquarters in Dublin.
In his new role, Hocquet will report to Euro Stars A-rated manager Tanguy Le Saout, who currently oversees nine fixed income funds at Pioneer including four in the European and eurozone debt markets.
Hocquet joins from BNP Paribas where he had been a credit trader on the firm’s fixed income proprietary desk. He had previously served as a quant analyst intern at Société Générale.
Meanwhile, Van Sante joins from Crédit Agricole in London and will report to Garrett Walsh, head of credit research for Europe.
Van Sante previously researched European financials and also served as an equity research assistant at CA Cheuvreux in Germany earlier in her career.
Commenting on the appointments, Le Saout said: ‘Through our dynamic active management approach, underpinned by a strong risk budgeting system, we have been able to successfully navigate the euro crisis, providing positive results for our clients.’
‘Therefore, it is critical that we have the right calibre of people to continue achieving these strong results. Both Vianney and Elisabeth come with solid investment experience and will further enhance an already successful team.’
The Pioneer Investments fixed income team oversees €90 billion in assets around the globe. There are currently 100 fixed income specialists at the firm, covering research, analysis and portfolio management.
