DWS launches fixed date EMD bond fund

DWS Investments has launched an emerging market corporate bond fund which has a fixed maturity date of 2017.

The new DWS Select Emerging Markets Corporate Bonds 2017 is part of the firm's Select platform which offers investors access to fixed maturity bond funds and will be managed by Bernhard Birkhaeuser.

The platform's design allows investors to transfer their assets from a fixed date fund which has reached maturity to a renewed version of the fund.

The latest launch, however, is the first incarnation of its Select Emerging Markets Corporate Bonds fund, a spokesperson told Citywire Global.

The Luxembourg-domiciled fund will invest primarily in corporate bonds which hold investment grade status and will invest across a wide range of countries, including Brazil, Russia, China and India.

Its five-year horizon has a maturity date which ends in December 2017.
