Graham French video exclusive: Why I'm backing physical assets

In this exclusive video, M&G Global Basics manager Graham French reveals why he believes we're in the midst of a twenty year commodity super cycle.

He explains to Citywire Global editor Angus Foote why, contrary to what many experts say, the prices of physical assets are going to stay higher for longer.

But just as the cost of oil, gold and soft commodities rise, so too will the level of social unrest warns French, arguing we are fast approaching a 'Malthusian scenario' where population growth threatens to outpace that of agricultural production.

The Citywire A rated manager also reveals why he's backing a huge renaissance in the natural gas sector and talks through some of his most recent portfolio changes.

It is with great pleasure to hear a fund manager explain his position in clear and understandable language, regarding the physical assets in which his company trades.

I myself believe that commodities however you trade in them ,are hear to stay for the foreseeable future.

But volatility will always be around the corner, this is a part of the new millennium that we live in.

It is a question of temperance.
