Germany
Altira Group has hired Torsten Dennin from Deutsche Bank to co-manage the VCH Expert Natural Resources fund, formerly run by Munich boutique founder Wolfgang Mayr.
Mayr was replaced on the fund back in March by former cominvest manager Ute Speidel, and now Dennin is joining Speidel to bring his expertise on derivatives.
Dennin was formerly a portfolio manager in the private wealth management arm of Deutsche Bank and he was responsible for developing and managing specialised commodity strategies. He was also responsible for analysis of international commodity markets and equities from the resources sector.
Altira is seeing growing demand for commodities coming from institutional investors, and together the team runs €110 million of assets in the sector.
