The European arm of Neuberger Berman has announced the launch of a new global Ucits fund which will focus on global equities on an unconstrained basis.
The Neuberger Berman Global Thematic Opportunities fund will follow the firm’s Global Opportunities fund strategy, which has returned 8.5% annually since its inception in 2003, and will be domiciled in Dublin.
The new fund will be managed by Neuberger Berman’s MLG Group, which already manages in excess of $3 billion (€2.4 billion) in assets.
‘The Ucits fund is well-positioned to take advantage of global themes that we currently see and which we expect to convert into compelling investment performance for our clients,’ said the fund’s co-portfolio manager Tony Gleason.
The head of Neuberger Berman Europe, Dik van Lomwel, added: ‘The strategy’s positive track record, coupled with growing investor demand for unconstrained global equities exposure, has prompted us to add the strategy to our Ucits range. We expect the fund to appeal to investors looking for an investment team with deep experience.’
