Swiss firm Banque Syz is to expand its business in Asia to offer its Oyster funds as well as institutional asset management services.
The Swiss banking group has offered alternative asset management in the region for the last three years through its Hong Kong office and is now looking to add new services.
'We have identified strong demand in the region for innovative products with high added value. The extension of our activities will enable us to capitalize on the contacts established over the last few years to offer the full range of the Group's products throughout South-East Asia and Australia,' said Eric Syz, the firm's managing partner.
Daniel Ghiradi has been appointed as CEO in Asia to take responsibility for the company’s expansion. He Joined Syz & Co in 2007 and gained experience in Asia at his previous position with Swiss banking major UBS.
The Oyster fund range which is being made available in Asia for the first time includes the widely-followed European Opportunities fund run by Eric Bendahan and the Japan Opportunities fund run by the Citywire AAA-rated quarter of Richard Phillips, Steven Morant, Ian Wright and Tom Mermagen.
