Transfer market: what managers are being traded in?

It is not just the world of football that sees January as an opportune time for top teams to change their squad.

Leading firms in the asset management industry are also bringing in fresh blood to run some of their funds. Here are the latest manager moves to have hit the fund manager trading market in the past week.

Lombard Odier

Alexander Umansky – no longer manages the LO Funds – Baron US Growth fund which is now run by Arthur Moretti.

Guilherme Maciel de Barros – he now co-manager alongside Michal Wozniak the LO Funds Em Local Currency and Bonds fund.

FIM

Markku Kaloniemi– the Finnish firm’s director has taken a step back from the three funds he was running. The lead manager on the FIM Forte and FIM Mondo funds is now Mikko Linnanvuori while the primary manager for FIM Fenno is now Mika Heikkinen.

BSI

Raoul Paglia – no longer manages the BSI Multihelvetia and the BSI-Multiinvest Swiss Stocks funds. They have been taken over by Mauro Casalini.

Elsewhere, following Pranay Gupta’s departure from ING to Lombard Odier earlier at the start of this month, his ING Institutional Global Enhanced fund has now been taken over by manager Sam Lam.
