Impax: even Trump can’t stop the march of renewables

Bruce Jenkyn-Jones, manager of the Impax Environmental Markets (IEM) investment trust, believes green stocks can continue to thrive even with climate change sceptic Donald Trump in the White House.

Nearly half of the trust is held in US stocks, and while Trump’s stance has led to caution around the environmental sector, Jenkyn-Jones argues the cost-effectiveness of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies means they will grow ‘with or without Donald Trump’.

In this video, Jenkyn-Jones talks about:

  • the strong performance of environmental stocks over the last 12 months;
  • the technology opportunities in agriculture;
  • the impact of Trump’s infrastructure and tax-cutting plans.
