Economic watchdog chief Budd said he was mad to take the job
Sir Alan Budd, chairman of the newly formed Office for Budget Responsibility, said he must have been mad to take the job, but is hopeful a successor can still be found when he steps down.

‘There are those who claim that the Golden Rule became discredited because the Treasury was able to change its view of when the economic cycle began and ended. Under these proposed arrangements that would cover us I don't think such a change would be possible,' he said.
Budd has criticised prime minister David Cameron for using the OBR's jobs forecast for political ends.
