FTSE meanders, waiting for new direction

Investors are sticking to the sidelines waiting for more clear signals about where the market will head next.

But the broker downgraded its view on Barclays to 'hold' from 'buy'. Shares were down 0.91 p at 320.4p.

Cable & Wireless Worldwide shares were under pressure, down 1.1p at 70.5p after Bank of America Merrill Lynch downgraded its view to 'underperform' with a 70p target.

And Eurasian led the miners lower, down 13.5p at 840.5p.
