The M&G Optimal Income fund run by Richard Woolnough is one of the star bond picks in Citywire Selection, which is based on our independent analysis. Head of research Jonathan Miller explains why.
We rate Woolnough as one of the top bond fund managers and the flexible remit allows him to pick his best ideas across different parts of the market.
The global outlook is delicately poised so it is important to have a balanced and diversified portfolio, which we believe this fund is worth being part of.

I assure you these are NOT advertisements. We NEVER accept any form of payment for coverage.
We are highlighting this fund because our independent quantitative and qualitative analysis determines who is capable of consistently outperforming without taking undue risk.
Richard Woolnough falls into this category.
However I accept that we need to make this clearer in future.
Regards
Rich

Why is this considered advertising ?
This is a very good fund - I've held it in my ISA for a number of years now and it's performed consistently well for me.
It's an unbiased and impartial recommendation of one of the top funds in it's sector.
