Ashley Law Crawley boosts family ties and charity connections

Crawley-based adviser Tracey Evans has brought her husband into the business and thrown her support behind a local children’s charity after being life-planned by the Kinder Institute.

Evans, associate partner at Ashley Law Crawley, said she had made the changes after she underwent life planning. She became a registered life planner with the Kinder Institute of Life Planning in July.

‘My husband joining the firm was part of our life plan,’ she said. ‘That has been quite an important change. He was not happy where he was at BT, working as a business account manager. There are a lot of transferable skills. At BT he dealt with clients, so he is good at dealing with people.’

Her spouse, Derek Evans (pictured with Tracey) joined the firm as associate partner and protection adviser. He is due to complete the Chartered Insurance Institute diploma in February, and is on course to become chartered and certified by the end of the year.

The business is also supporting a local charity, which was a goal set as a result of Evans’ life-planning experience. The Golden Lion Children’s Trust organises events and support for under privileged-children and those with special needs.

Ah! I see that their charity had an income of £17K and expenditure of £21.5 K 2009/10

Good business plan that.

In response to Greg Thomas - Thankyou for your deeply insightful comment. A charity is not a business. It is not uncommon for a charity to draw upon its reserves in order to continue much needed work, in times of reduced income. I suggest that you may wish to take some time to consider of more empathetic approach and to start from a position of greater knowledge before posting what could be perceived as a negative remark about a children's charity.
