Much like frogs being dropped in cold water, unaware they are slowly being brought to boil, investors sitting in 'safe-haven' assets do not realise their wealth is being decimated during times of repression.

Actually most of them do but prefer to be left with 90% of it than 10%, which what happens when they fall for the offers of fantastic returns from carbon credits or rare earths or geared-up film investments or geared-up investments in second-hand insurance policies or plots with planning applications pending or ... (fill in your scam of choice)
