Aviva to cut 120 UK jobs
by Alex Steger on Nov 30, 2012 at 08:25
Product provider Aviva is set to cut 120 jobs as it continues to target cost savings of £400 million.
According to the Financial Times Aviva will let go around 120 staff from its Sheffield-based claims management business Asprea.
In August Aviva warned it planned to cut 800 jobs across the UK as part of its cost cutting restructure.
The restructure of the group, implemented in the wake of the chief executive Andrew Moss's departure from the business, is targeting £400 million of cost savings.

I feel really sorry for these 120 particularly at this time of year.
After the headline I was secretly looking for their God Awful Asian call centre to be shut down. I am getting pig sick of messages being left on my phone in very bad english "hello, my name is (english name) I am from Aviva, would you please call me on 0800........" So I ring as there is inevitably some cases in pipeline - lo and behold I reach a call centre - "never heard of him/her, what is your policy no., what is your dob, what is your postcode, oh you are an IFA, what is the client name, what is the policy no. OH B*****ks. And I've been caught up once again in this world of auto cues.
I really think this outfit needs people not lose them. Still, the board and HR Dept. can nip down the Wine Bar tonight and pat each other on the back for saving a few more bob. No doubt the heads of the Cutomer Service experience dept. sit outside on the pavement swigging on a bottle of Cider in despair.

Left myself 2 yrs ago after a succesful career. That day 156 yrs of experience walked out in 6 people . The company's management just dont know what they are doing.
If the real truth came out what has happened re management , it is a wonderful company with little leadership now

I left Aviva in July after 7 years, the latter few delivering RDR RO exams to its advisers and Intermediaries. They've just made more trainers redundant - once they had first successfully supported the advisers to Dip PFS. Im afraid Aviva and its management are as bad as those awful TV adverts!
