Ex-Aegon distribution boss Gale takes director post at JLT
by Jun Merrett on Jan 18, 2013 at 09:56
Former Aegon executive chairman Patrick Gale has been appointed as an independent non-executive director and chairman of JLT Employee Benefits's audit committee.
Gales (pictured) oversaw national IFAs Positive Solutions and Origen as Aegon distribution director, a post he left earlier this year.
JLT Employee Benefits chief executive Mark Wood said: 'Patrick has a wealth of industry and board experience that spans more than 30 years, making him an excellent addition to the JLT Employee Benefits business. His additional responsibilities as chairman of the audit committee reflect our focus on best practice in governance.'
Gale added: 'JLT has grown strongly organically as well as through acquisition and has ambitious plans for future growth. I am very much looking forward to working with Mark and the team. The changing demands of the pension and benefit landscape shows little sign of slowing down and so I would expect 2013 to be another busy and successful year for JLT.'
Gale also took up the chairmanship of financial services research company Defaqto this week.
