Ex-Bluefin practice head eyes family office in Middle East
by Rachael Revesz on Nov 30, 2012 at 10:24
A London-based adviser has been travelling the globe to research setting up an international family office.
Patrick Murphy (pictured), director and chartered financial planner at Zen Wealth, said he had recently returned from Switzerland and Dubai, and hoped to launch a family office in the next year.
He said: ‘I was looking at the possibility of doing something for wealthy family offices in the Middle East,’ he said. ‘It’s quite developed in Europe and the US, but not so in the Middle East, and there are really wealthy families coming through, so I’m exploring the opportunities.’
Murphy, formerly head of practice at AXA-owned national IFA Bluefin, set up Zen Wealth, an appointed representative of the Best Practice network, earlier this year.
