FOS appoints interim ops director
by Jun Merrett on Jan 09, 2012 at 14:33
The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has appointed Chris McDermott as the interim operations director to replace Simon Rouse while it continues to look for a permanent replacement.
Rouse has been appointed as Santander bancassurance director after quitting his role as FOS operations director in November. Rouse joined the FOS from Barclays, where he was head of strategy and performance management.
McDermott, who started his new role in January, will keep the position for a year until the FOS finds a permanent replacement. He has previously worked as chief executive at IT and business service company LogicaCMG.
A spokesperson for the FOS said: 'We have appointed Chris McDermott as the interim operations director for one year while we're looking to appoint someone on a more permanent basis.'
