Fraudster IFA handed nine-month suspended prison sentence

A Barnsley-based adviser has been handed a nine-month suspended prison sentence and ordered to pay £9,000 after being convicted of fraud.

Sheffield Crown Court handed Martin Geoffrey Blake, former director of Blake Independent Financial Planning, the sentence, which is suspended for two years, on 24 January.

Blake was charged with fraud by false representation on 14 January.

Blake Independent Financial Planning went into administration and ceased trading in July 2012.

Blake was unavailable for comment.
