Intelliflo plans product panel for simplified advice

Technology and back office provider Intelliflo is in talks with product providers to create a panel of products for a simplified advice-type offering it plans to launch at the end of 2011.
The online service, which will be called Personal Finance Portal, will be hosted on financial advisers’ websites and tailored to carry each adviser firm’s name and branding.
Nick Eatock (pictured), Intelliflo chief executive, said the move to provide a simplified advice service was driven by adviser demand in the face of the retail distribution review (RDR) changes.
‘With the RDR, advisers are coming to us asking if [simplified advice] can be done. They have a pressing need to service clients in different ways,’ he said.
Eatock said traditional life companies were queuing up to talk to the firm due to the number of consumers Intelliflo users have access to.
‘Standard Life has three million customers, we have six million [through advisers]. We have spent seven years building [adviser] technology.’

That’s funny I did not know that Intelliflo had any that many clients? Maybe he is confused and is talking about the clients of the IFA’s and Mortgage Brokers that use their solution. Does this mean that the long term goal is to provide simplified advice direct to the customer as they are a Web solution I assume that they have full access to all of the individual clients names addresses, email and the like.
If I was an IFA using the system I would be questioning what the end game is for the back office provider who obviously see themselves as more that a software company?
