Investment Sense raises £3,500 for Childline
by Iain Martin on Jul 07, 2011 at 07:00
Nottingham-based IFA firm Investment Sense has raised £3,500 for Childline, winning the Nottingham Post NSPCC Business Challenge.
Investment Sense attracted around 150 people to a series of events, featuring talks from former Dragons’ Den panellist Rachel Elnaugh, Seven Investment Management’s Justin Urquhart-Stewart and entrepreneur Mike Southon. It raised more money than 20 other local firms that took part in the challenge.
Investment Sense marketing manager Philip Bray (pictured) said the firm intended to raise more money for the charity later in the year. He said the money would help Childline provide more staffing for its phone lines.
‘It costs £4 for a call to be answered and the money we raised will go straight to helping Childline answer more calls from vulnerable children, not just here in Nottingham but nationwide,’ he said.
