About Alexander Darwall
Alexander Darwall adopts a bottom-up investment approach and has over 20 years' experience in the investment industry. Born in June 1963, Darwall studied history at Cambridge University. He started out as an analyst with Zoete & Bevan (BZW) and in 1987 moved to Paris to front the French equity research division at Swedish group Enskilda Securities. In 1992 he joined Goldman Sachs as a French equity analyst before Jupiter snapped him up in 1995. Darwall was initially responsible for the equity portions of a number of segregated pension accounts for Jupiter. In 1999 he was given control of the Jupiter European investment trust and subsequently the roll-over vehicle, the Jupiter European Opportunities Trust, which was launched in November 2000. In January 2001 Darwall was appointed fund manager for the Jupiter European fund.
