About Robin Geffen

When Robin Geffen speaks people listen and his market views have appeared in many leading publications including the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal and the Daily Mail. Born in London in 1957, Geffen graduated from Keble College, Oxford in 1979 in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and began his career at Charterhouse J Rothschild as a graduate trainee where he concentrated on UK smaller companies and European equities. Geffen moved on to Eagle Star and worked on its European desk before being appointed head of the Asia Pacific team and then joined York plc where he was responsible for UK and global smaller companies funds. Geffen's next post was with Scottish Equitable and he was responsible for setting up the group's pooled fund business and instrumental in establishing the UK's first emerging market pension fund. He was subsequently appointed global CIO of pensions at Orbitex before going on to found Neptune Investment Management in 2002 where he is responsible for the management of several unit trusts he created. Geffen follows a highly personalised investment style that is based on his view of the economy as being sector driven. He looks to find value without the restrictions of any specific investment style pointing that no one style outperforms across the whole business cycle.
