The pensions dashboard will be put into gear this week with 11 providers signed up to trial the system.
The aim of the pensions dashboard is to allow savers to view all their pension pots in one place digitally.
It expected that today the economic secretary to the Treasury, Simon Kirby, will announce a trial of the pensions dashboard system which will be managed by the Association of British Insurers, the Daily Telegraph reports.
A pilot version of the online dashboard will be launched in March 2017 and in 2019 the public will get access.
Former chancellor George Osborne committed to the creation of a pension’s dashboard in his March 2016 Budget. However, there had been a degree of uncertainty over which policies would be followed through by the Treasury following Osborne’s replacement with Philip Hammond.
Pension experts have been putting pressure on the government to see the policy through.
Sipp and platform provider AJ Bell has also called for state pension statements to be included.
