Beaufort trio raises £70k in ‘Ark to Arc’ cycling challenge

Beaufort trio raises £70k in ‘Ark to Arc’ cycling challenge

A three-man cycling team from Berkshire-based Beaufort Financial braved bruises, broken bones and sore bottoms to raise £70,000 for a cancer charity, in a voyage from Basingstoke to Paris.

Financial advisers Mark Dolby and Andy Coles, and administrator Ashley Hull (pictured) cycled 262 miles in four days from the Ark Conference Centre in Basingstoke to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris in July. They raised money for the Ark Cancer Centre Charity, pushing it closer to its £5 million fundraising target. The money will be added to £20 million from the NHS to build a brand new arts centre in 2020.

Dolby has raised tens of thousands of pounds for Ark but said this was the most difficult feat so far.

He said: ‘This was a big challenge for us and there were some pretty serious injuries, including a broken collar bone, a fractured arm, nasty cuts and bruises and some very sore bottoms!’
