International financial advice business deVere Group has launched a phone-based independent financial planning service or UK clients and returning expatriates.
Mike Coady, deVere director, said the service would provide all elements of financial planning, from initial meeting onwards, entirely over the phone.
He said it was targeted at existing deVere overseas clients returning to the UK who will live too far from the nearest deVere office or who did not wish to spend time face-to-face with an adviser.
‘Clients come to the UK from our international offices and repatriate in the UK. They end up in all sorts of places so as a rule we will say anyone who lives more than 90 minutes from an office will be offered detailed financial planning that is phone-based.
‘They might just want to change a fund, increase their insurance, take out a mortgage…lots of clients are executives who only want to spend 20 minutes of their day speaking to an adviser, especially if it is of a more transactional nature.’
Coady said deVere was expanding its UK presence hiring UK advisers and training graduates to level four.
