David Ferry, investment manager and branch principal of Birmingham-based Ferry Financial, is looking for a fellow adviser to buy a stake in his firm.
Ferry (pictured) said he wanted an IFA to become a partner and join the firm in an advisory role.
He said the potential partner would ideally have their own client bank.
‘What I would like to have is a full-time partner to come in, own a part of the business and run it with me,’ he said.
Ferry said if he could not find a suitable partner, he would instead take on a junior adviser to service his less high-net-worth clients.
‘[I would] employ a younger person to deal with smaller clients, [someone] who can grow into the business,’ he said.
In March Ferry relocated from Stratford-upon-Avon to Birmingham and hired a client services manager, Cathy Mallon.
He said the extra pair of hands meant he had more time to pursue his passion for motor racing.
‘With the best will in the world, if I want to spend a week racing, I can go and know [the business is in safe hands],’ he said. ‘Before I had to shut up shop, and going on holiday was difficult.’
