Legal & General (L&G) managing director of workplace savings Tony Filbin is to leave the company following it’s restructure earlier this year.
In September New Model Adviser® revealed the company was putting 600 jobs at risk after it merged its life, savings, annuities and protection arms to form a new division called Legal & General Assurance Society (LGAS).
A L&G spokesman said Filbin (pictured) would be staying until the start of 2014 to help with the restructure.
Filbin’s duties will be handed over to Jim Islam, currently managing director of group protection, who will report to John Pollock, chief executive of LGAS.
Staff affected by the restructure are currently in consultation with L&G, which said the cuts would represent 10% of its 6,000 strong workforce, and will impact offices in Birmingham, Cardiff, Hove and Kingswood.
