Altrincham-based Lift-Financial’s paraplanning team has received a boost from recent exam success, but the firm is still on the lookout for a career paraplanner.
Ella Davies (pictured) passed three exams over a seven-day period in October, including AF1, AF5 and J02, in which she received a distinction. Davies plans to take one more exam in April on her way to become a chartered financial planner.
Davies said: ‘It is my goal to become a chartered financial planner whilst I am still in my twenties. I am over the moon that I passed all three and hope this will stand me in good stead for my move into an advisory role within the next 12 months.’
Lift currently has five support staff, two of whom are in the graduate training programme, which prepares them for paraplanning and advisory roles.
Lift chief executive Mike Holden said his firm had been looking for a career paraplanner to join the team, but over the past three months had turned down around 25 applicants for a senior paraplanner role due to their lack of experience or because they were not at diploma level.
‘We’re breeding our own,’ he said. ‘We’ve had the position for a senior paraplanner open for seven months… I’m looking for a career paraplanner to bolster the team.’
