Skerritts hopes Bee buzz will see firms flock to Seagulls stadium seminar

Hove-based Skerritt Consultants has joined forces with New Model Adviser® columnist and pensions guru Steve Bee to host an auto-enrolment seminar to educate local businesses about the reform.

It has invited 300 businesses, including accountants, solicitors and HR firms, to the event to be held at Brighton & Hove Albion’s Amex Stadium on 25 April. The Institute of Directors and Chamber of Commerce have also been asked to invite members.

Mark Cardy, Skerritts director, said the aim was to cement the firm’s reputation as auto-enrolment experts in the local area. ‘We’re trying to be the biggest name in East and West Sussex, up to Gatwick, as being fantastic at auto-enrolment,’ he said.

‘For solicitors, we can talk about changing employment contracts and the risk of not doing that; for accountants, it’s a payroll issue; and it’s about getting people to realise we’re going to be the regional experts in this.

‘In a couple of years’ time, there will be 13,000 companies a month auto-enrolling so you need to be slick to deal with all this.’

Skerritts hopes to gain business from the seminar and has designed follow-up events for those that decide to work with it for their auto-enrolment needs.
