Strategic strengthens DFM arm with Sanlam swoop

Strategic Solutions has boosted its discretionary fund management (DFM) team with a new hire from national advice firm Sanlam UK.

Last December Dorset-based IFA Strategic Solutions launched its own DFM business, Casterbridge Wealth.

The DFM recently passed the £100 million of assets mark and has now taken on Antony Clarke as a new investment director.

Clarke, who will lead the Salisbury office and takes the total team headcount to six, will be a manager who meets clients as well as investing funds. He will also play a role in the investment committee structure.

Clarke was a portfolio manager at Sanlam for two years and prior to that was an investment manager at Quilter Cheviot.

Keith Edwards (pictured), Casterbridge Wealth chief executive, said: ‘If we want to reach £250 million [of assets], which we will be doing over the next 18 months, we need to make sure we can cope with that. We will be recruiting another investment manager next April as well.’
