Nucleus appoints managing director to boost growth
by William Robins on Jan 16, 2012 at 11:49
Nucleus has appointed John McNeil to the newly-created role of managing director to head up corporate governance.
McNeil has joined from OPTOS a medical retinal imaging company based in Dunfermline, where he led the company’s successful initial public offering, which raised £50 million and admission to the main market of the London Stock Exchange in February 2006.
At Nucleus, McNeil will form part of the five member executive management team reporting to chief executive David Ferguson (pictured).
Ferguson said McNeil’s role will support the business's development plans.
‘It gives me great pleasure to confirm the expansion of the senior management team with someone of John's calibre, which is aligned to support our continued growth,’ he said. ‘He has a wealth of experience of working at forward-thinking organisations in a range of regulated industries and sectors.’

A sensible step for the next stage in growth i imagine. A move from outside industry recognises the paucity in quality senior management in financial services - business acumen not good at selling products in the past.
