Nucleus raids Skandia to expand sales team

Wrap platform Nucleus has poached Skandia's UK sales development director as it moves to increase its presence across the UK.

The group has hired Mike Wallis as regional business development director working in the South East, and Tom Coutts, previously a technical adviser at national IFA Cavanagh Financial Management, as an IFA account manager.

Wallis, who worked at Skandia for 14 years, will be based in the South East and will report to Barry Neilson (pictured), business development director at Nucleus. His hire will give Nucleus its first permanent sales presence outside of Edinburgh.

Coutts will report to Darren Lowry, IFA account director.

Neilson said the hires would enable the business to grow its distribution. 'We want to work with firms that genuinely want to partner with us, and we are looking to increase the distribution of the whole platform proposition and expand both teams further going forward,' he said.

Does Citywire have some kind of infatuation with Nucleus? Nucleus did not 'raid' or 'poach' Mike Wallis from Skandia he had already left the company last year.
