Paradigm picks Mentel to head investment business
by Jun Merrett on Oct 29, 2012 at 16:57
IFA group Paradigm has recruited ex-Octopus Investments executive Lothar Mentel to head its recently launched investment business, Tatton Investments.
Mentel (pictured) was previously chief investment officer at Octopus and will take up the same role at Paradigm. He will work on Tatton’s investment range which will include funds, model portfolios and a discretionary portfolio management service. He will also select the fund groups Tatton will partner with. Earlier this month Tatton announced plans to tie up with Henderson Global Investors to offer a range of funds. Mentel’s old employer Octopus runs Paradigm’s existing fund range Prism Capital Management.
‘In the past I’ve built Octopus’ fund management function, so I have the experience. But this is particularly exciting as I will be building a company from scratch,’ said Mentel. ‘My aim is to build a significant company that provides good quality, sustainable and consistent investment propositions to the end clients.’
