by Rachael Revesz on Jun 18, 2013 at 15:48
Charlotte Hogg, head of retail distribution and intermediaries at Santander UK since 2011, will join the Bank on 1 July.
In her newly-created role, Hogg will be responsible for daily management of the Bank including human resources, finance, property, IT and security.
Governor Mervyn King said he was delighted to welcome Hogg to the position. ‘I have followed Charlotte’s highly successful career with great interest since her time as a Kennedy Scholar,’ he said. ‘She is an important addition to the Bank’s new team.’
Hogg studied at Harvard and joined the Bank in 1992 as a graduate. She worked at McKinsey before joining Morgan Stanley as managing director. Hogg has also worked for Experian.
Incoming BoE governor Mark Carney said: ‘I am delighted that Charlotte will be part of the senior team at the Bank. My tenure at the Bank will oversee a significant transition. Charlotte brings an outstanding track record and breadth of experience that will help to catalyse that change and I look forward to working closely with her to realise the full potential of the new institutional structure of the Bank.’
