Schroders appoints Bateman as head of European equities
by Matthew Goodburn on Sep 07, 2010 at 11:58
Schroders has appointed Rory Bateman (pictured) as head of European Equities with immediate effect, replacing Gary Clarke who left the firm to join JP Morgan in May.
Batemen joined Schroders in early 2008 as head of European institutional portfolios. He will continue to run the core Luxembourg -domiciled European equity portfolios and its team of research analysts.
The appointment follows the promotion of Martin Skanberg as manager of Schroder ISF EURO Equity and Jamie Lowry as manager of the Schroder ISF European Equity Alpha, taking on the roles from Clarke.
Bateman will report directly to Ken Lambden, global head of equities.
Lambden, commented: 'We are extremely pleased that Rory has taken on this role and expect the transition will be implemented seamlessly. Rory has already played a key managerial role in the team since joining us and I am confident that he will continue to deliver strong performance and a high quality service for our investors.'
Bateman, said: 'We have an impressive track record in European equities backed by an experienced and talented team. I look forward to taking on this role and building on this reputation as well as continuing to work with the team to ensure that clients see the strong returns they expect across the product range.'
