SimplyBiz director Matt Timmins joins Apfa board
by Max Skjönsberg on Jan 28, 2014 at 13:11
The Association of Professional Financial Advisers (Apfa) has added Matt Timmins, joint managing director of support service provider SimplyBiz, to its board of directors.
SimplyBiz chairman Ken Davy was the last SimplyBiz member of Apfa's board, a position he stepped down from in 2011.
Timmins (pictured) said he was a long-time supporter of Apfa.
‘Apfa is the only trade body which serves all advisers, irrelevant of whether they are restricted or independent, and which has an impressive track record of successful lobbying, positioning and opposing on advisers’ behalf,’ he said.
Apfa director general Chris Hannant said he was pleased with the addition of Timmins to the board.
‘He boasts an impressive background in financial services and he’s been a strong advocate of the adviser industry for some time. We will continue to build a united voice which speaks for the whole industry, and we look forward to working closely with Matt in our efforts to provide a better deal for all advisers,’ he said.
