Sunday Papers: Rothschild and Cohen back €1bn lender - bid news and gossip

* Lord Rothschild, Sir Ronald Cohen and the Australian sovereign wealth fund, Future Fund, have committed to invest €450m in Haymarket Financial, a specialist lender to medium-sized businesses; the commitments take the total capital invested in the company to €1bn.
* Gartmore, the fund management firm hit by regulatory concerns, has awarded 3.5% of the company’s equity to a group of top staff to encourage them to stay at the business.
* House of Fraser, the department store retailer, will this week relaunch Biba, the iconic 1960s clothing and homeware brand that it bought last November.
* Brussels is to push for the creation of a form of "treasury" for the European Union with powers to issue bonds and reinforce fiscal integration.
* Three British bankers held in Bahrain for more than a year have written to William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, calling on him to intervene with the local authorities on their behalf.
