Towergate appoints deputy chief executive
by Daniel Grote on Dec 14, 2009 at 10:00
Towergate Partnership has appointed Amanda Blanc as deputy chief executive of the group.
Blanc (pictured), currently chief executive of Towergate's retail division, will take up the new post in the new year and report to group chief executive Ian Homer.
But Blanc will not oversee the group's financial services division, headed by Ian Darby, which has made a number of IFA acquisitions over recent months. Darby will continue to report to Homer.
Blanc is to take up responsibility for commercial insurance platform Powerplace, Towergate's two broker networks Countrywide and Broker Network, and its retail broking business.
Blanc sits on the broking faculty board of the Chartered Insurance Institute. She joined Towergate in 2006 after spells at AXA UK, insurers Groupama UK and Commercial Union.
