Towry director Gaius Jones to exit after 14 years

Towry director and senior client partner Gaius Jones is to leave the restricted advice group after 14 years.

Jones has resigned from the Towry board and will leave the company in August.

A spokesman for Towry said Jones had a new job lined up in 'retail financial services'.

Jones joined John Scott& Partners, which acquired Towry in 2006, in 1999 and joined the firm’s board in 2003.

He was appointed to Towry’s board in 2009.

A Towry spokesman said: ‘Gaius has resigned from the board with immediate effect and is leaving Towry in August because he has got a new job.’

This is a shock. How many shares has he been allocated that will be lost on the IPO? He will keep some, but it must have been some bust up!

no bust up, he's left to follow a different path, Towry wouldn't lie. no doubt there will be accusations that he is at fault for all Towry's failings over the next couple of years, oh and Towry not being classed as independent will be his fault too, and the Cypriot levy, and the UK downgrade and .......

@ Annon

So their paths digressed. Did he wish to follow the route that was trailblazed by John Scott & Ptnrs or did he disagree with the current Towry routemap?

Anyway, my congratulations to Mr Jones, and I wish him all the best in his new position. I hope this one will follow the road that leads him towards a clear conscience, utilising a well metalled track, with no further stumbling on the way.

A little (if at all) reported fact is that all existing (note use of the word existing) Towry staff were allowed to offload a portion of their shares recently, so Gaius willl no doubt have had a cash injection prior to resigning which I am guessing would have been quite considerable taking into account his seniority.

Good luck to him in whatever he does next, I left 5 years ago but he was one of the good guys in my experience.

@Julian

My experience as well. One of the good guys, where will they go without him to add a note of caution to the board.
