WR expands team for auto-enrolment business influx
by Brian Cantwell on Jan 24, 2013 at 10:58
Tees Valley-based WR Financial Management has taken on three recruits and is set to launch an employee benefits arm of the business as it gears up for an influx of work thanks to the introduction of auto-enrolment.
The firm has increased its staff numbers to 17 after hiring Andrea Softley, Perry Preston and Jack Mylchreest (pictured, from right to left). It is also set to launch a new company, WR Planning Group, to cater to businesses.
Softley and Preston have joined as graduates and will work in the firm’s employee benefits team and private clients team respectively. Mylchreest has joined WR’s pensions and benefits team from Edinburgh-based Gallagher Employee Benefits.
WR said it was already advising a number of small and medium-sized businesses on their auto-enrolment preparations and expected more work in this area.
‘Many employers have to think about pensions for the first time, and they have a deadline to work to, so we are seeing a significant increase in new business,’ said WR managing director Tony Slimmings.
‘The growth in the business is a real boost because it allows us to recruit and develop young North East talent.’
