1,300 individuals gain CISI chartered wealth manager status

by Dylan Lobo on Feb 25, 2013 at 13:33

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) has accredited 1,300 wealth managers since it launched the designation two years ago.

The Chartered Wealth Manager (CWM) designation launched in 2011. It was initiated by the CISI after extensive research with its members, which indicated practitioners were keen to consolidate the learning and further recognise the professionalism they had achieved during the retail distribution review.

The designation is awarded to those who combine high level qualifications, demonstrable maintenance of competence, along with passing the CISI 'Integrity Matters' e-learning test at the highest grade A.

CISI managing director Ruth Martin said in a statement: 'Of CISI members affected by the RDR, some 75% completed examinations at level 6 or 7, far exceeding the minimum level 4 qualifications benchmark.

'The Chartered Wealth Manager designation demonstrates advisers’ further dedication to professionalism and we are delighted with its success.'
