Alliance Trust Investments hires bond duo in bid to become fixed income 'contenders'
by Elsa Buchanan on Sep 16, 2013 at 10:23
Both will report into Rod Davidson, head of fixed income, who said: '[The] appointments are significant in underlining our commitment to expanding the fixed income offering at Alliance Trust Investments. The team is now a good size and is well positioned to enable the company to push the fixed income business forward into 2014 and beyond.'
Watson will focus on credit and high yield, while Daldry will concentrate on credit analysis.
Prior to joining Alliance Trust, Watson worked for Ignis Asset Management for 15 years, specialising first in UK smaller companies, before moving to the fixed income team in 2004. He then took on the Ignis High Income Bond fund.
Commenting on the hires, chief executive Katherine Garrett-Cox (pictured), said: 'Alliance Trust Investments is establishing itself as a real contender in the fixed income market.
'These appointments re-affirm our commitment to these underlying principles.'
