Alliance Trust names new bond managers
by Robert St George on Jan 20, 2014 at 09:55
Alliance Trust Investments has named two recent recruits as co-managers on its fixed income range.
Dan Daldry, who joined from Swip, has been appointed as co-manager for the Dynamic Bond and Monthly Income Bond funds. Kenny Watson, formerly of Ignis, has become co-manager of the Sustainable Corporate Bond fund.
Daldry will focus on financial credit analysis, and Watson will work specifically on credit and high yield.
‘The fund benefits from a strong team-based approach that allows individuals to focus on their specific areas of expertise within bond markets, including global government and credit,’ commented Dynamic Bond fund co-manager Stuart Steven.
The £59 million Dynamic Bond fund has returned 5.6% since its launch in September 2012, compared with an average of 7.5% from its IMA Targeted Absolute Return sector.
The £329 million Monthly Income Bond fund has returned 19% over the past three years versus its IMA Sterling Corporate Bond sector average of 18.7%, and the £269 million Sustainable Corporate Bond fund 21.3% over the same period.
