However, one of the unintended consequences of regulation could actually benefit the client, Hodgson said, highlighting more consolidation in the industry.
‘If the economy of scale is being smaller and more targeted, then we are more likely to see a fragmentation, with big groups breaking up, with teams leaving and taking clients, or boutiques springing up and taking care of those smaller clients.
‘I’m happy to make a profit on an account somebody else can’t make a profit out of,’ he added.
