Aviva axes hospitality for financial advisers after FCA paper
by Jun Merrett on Feb 12, 2014 at 08:52
Aviva has stopped hosting hospitality events for financial advisers following the Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) inducement paper.
Aviva made the decision to not host hospitality events for its 'life product distributors', who are mainly financial advisers, to comply with the regulator's final guidance on inducements, published in January.
An Aviva spokeswoman said: 'The FCA has issued guidance on its position on hospitality for distributors. Following this new clarification, we have decided not to host hospitality events for our life distributors. This is to ensure that both Aviva and our distributors adhere to the FCA's ruling on this matter.’
