by Danielle Levy on May 15, 2014 at 07:14
Aviva Investors has made a second significant hire from Standard Life Investments' Global Absolute Return Strategies (Gars) team, following that of incoming chief executive Euan Munro (pictured) earlier this year.
Senior fund manager Ian Pizer joins from SLI's multi-asset team. He will be based in London and report to Peter Fitzgerald, head of multi-assets.
He has over 10 years’ experience and was a portfolio manager on the SLI's Gars fund and Absolute Return Bond Strategy. He worked in the team responsible for portfolio construction and tactical asset allocation. Prior to this, he was an investment director within SLI's fixed interest team.
Peter Fitzgerald, head of multi-assets, said: 'I am very pleased to welcome Ian to Aviva Investors. He has a strong track record in delivering meaningful investment outcomes with low volatility – a key focus for our business going forward. We look forward to adding Ian’s experience to the team as we continue to strengthen this important area of expertise.'
Euan Munro, chief executive added: 'From my previous time working with Ian, I know that he brings a very strong pedigree in multi-asset investing. I am looking forward to sharing the benefit of his investment ideas again as we continue to develop our strategies in this area.'
