Aviva Investors hires former Baring manager to expand high yield capability
by Elsa Buchanan on Aug 13, 2013 at 10:51
Aviva Investors has appointed Sunita Kara as portfolio manager for European high yield as part of the firm’s push in global high yield strategies.
Kara has over 14 years’ experience and joins from Baring Asset Management, where she was a global high yield portfolio manager.
Previously, Kara has had spells at Standard & Poor’s as a senior credit analyst and at HM Treasury as an economic analyst.
She will be based in London and report to Todd Youngberg, head of high yield investments, who said in a statement: ‘[Kara] not only brings high energy and passion to our high yield team, but also a strong acumen in both fundamental security analysis and the macro-economic drivers of alpha.’
More broadly, he added, ‘[These] recent appointments demonstrate Aviva Investors’ continued commitment to delivering world-class solutions to our investors across the fixed income spectrum, and as demand for high yield from the investor community continues apace.’
This follows the recent appointment of Euan Munro (pictured) from Standard Life Investments to lead its investment arm earlier this year.
