by Emma Dunkley on Jan 03, 2013 at 15:00
Jon Bailie, global head of distribution at Axa Investment Managers, has left the firm after three years.
Dominique Carrel-Billiard, chief executive officer of Axa IM, will take on Bailie’s responsibilities while the investment manager looks to appoint a replacement.
A spokesperson for Axa said: ‘We can confirm Jon Bailie, global head of distribution at AXA IM, has decided to leave the firm. We would like to thank Jon for his achievements over the past three years, and wish him all the best for the future.’
Bailie joined the firm in January 2010 in the global role, while also serving as a member of the Axa IM executive committee and management board.
Prior to Axa, Bailie worked at Russell Investments, where he served from 1992 to 2008, holding a number of roles. He headed up the firm’s alternative investments group, managing hedge fund of funds, real estate fund of funds and real estate multi-manager businesses.
Bailie also held the role of managing director for partnerships and distribution alliances for the EMEA region at Russell, in 2005.
He led the institutional sales team across EMEA and developed the institutional multi-manager investment business, the investment consulting business and the brokerage business across the region.
Bailie started his career in 1985 at Whittingdale Limited, a specialist fixed income firm.
