Baillie Gifford unveils three new partners
by Robert St George on Jan 17, 2014 at 11:07
Baillie Gifford has named three new partners, including a Citywire A-rated fund manager.
The trio are: A-rated Tom Coutts, head of the European equity team; Stuart Dunbar, a director responsible for relationships with UK financial institutions; and David Henderson, a director responsible for Asian clients.
The £126 million European fund managed by Coutts has returned 35.2% over the past three years, compared with a sector average of 26.8%.
The promotions will take the total number of partners at Baillie Gifford from 39 to 40, following the retirements of head of the North American equities Mick Brewis (pictured) and Mid Wynd International manager Michael MacPhee.
‘We wholeheartedly thank Mick and Michael for their contribution over many years and have great confidence in the succession plans that we have put in place as they prepare to retire,’ commented Andrew Telfer, joint senior partner at Baillie Gifford.
