Barclays has poached a private banker from Merrill Lynch to boosts its resident non-dom team.
Keshav Khanna joins from the ultra high net worth team at Merrill Lynch where he advised clients across asset classes.
He has a particular focus on South Asian families and, John Saunders, managing director at Barclays wealth and investment management, said Khanna would be a ‘huge asset’ to Barclays as it continues to build out its headcount.
Barclays has made a raft of appointments during 2012 as it looks to become one of the five biggest private banks in the world by 2015. The plan, codenamed Project Gamma, will involve a doubling of the number of private bankers at Barclays’ offices across the country.
‘I am delighted to announce Keshav’s appointment. This is a time of growth for our business in London and Keshav’s considerable experience in working with high net worth South Asian families is sure to be a huge asset as we continue to serve the needs of new and existing clients,’ Saunders said.
Khanna will focus on high net worth resident non-domiciled individuals and families, and his role will involve providing a range of bespoke solutions to help them meet financial goals.
